Photography for me is an escape, an opportunity to realise my creative side and produce art.  I say art, as photography is the tool, not the goal.  My images are not always pure or out of the camera.  I choose to be creative and use the camera as a canvas.  Photoshop & Lightroom then become by paints and pallet.

I love portraiture work, this is typically truer to life, as i paint with light.  I do this in my studio, where i can control the light, the elements and concentrate on the posing and client.  I also take my lights on location, as there's nothing like getting a dramatic or meaningful backdrop to tell a story with an image.

My other passion is landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes.  Again, i like to push the images further with light, using HDR techniques to enable me to capture lights and shadows, as we would see them at the time.

My final challenge to myself is street photography.  It very much takes me out of my comfort zone and forces me to look at a scene differently.  This will forever be my nemesis and my joy...

I'm quite a techie with photography.  I love the gear and I love the software/postprocessing.

I was fortunate to meet Salli quite early on in both our photography journeys. I have come to think of Salli as a close photography friend. I love attending her events, as they push boundaries of creativity, which produce stunning and unique images.  It's also been a pleasure to teach alongside Salli at her studio and giving back to other photographers.  I very much look forward to doing this with the Barnhouse community.
